Would a career diploma or associate degree from Penn Foster Career School be respected while applying for a job? The career diploma programs seem to be regionally accredited as well as nationally, while the associate degree programs are only nationally accredited. I was particularly eyeing a computer support or a business diploma or degree. Any helpful information on this school would be great. Seems like a much more respected school than University of Phoenix from what I can find.
As far as accreditation goes: they are DETC accredited, which is recognised by the US Department of Education, and the programs I’m looking at are accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, which is the same commission that accredited my high school and my current university (Slippery Rock).

I know people have asked this a gazillion times excluding Y!A and I have been looking at colleges on Youtube and someone said under the comments about how he regrets not studying and working hard and that we need to take advantage of our young age before it’s too late, so that really caught my attention and my brother even lectured to me, he said he didn’t know until 9th grade but he wish he knew earlier. I am very determined, it doesn’t even have to be harvard, maybe yale, princeton, oxford, cambridge or any ivy league. I went to a private school then on online schooling and I used to cheat and go online, I could never stop but thank God I reverted back to a real school. How can I start preparing before it’s too late?? I’m in 7th grade. I want to be a brain or heart surgeon, btw.
@tgroov, πŸ™ oh I am sorry you did not get into an ivy league, hopefully God has something better in store for you, you seem like a very genuine person. πŸ˜€
    Thank you Ashley:) very informative

I know fully immersing and being exposed to the culture is the most effective way to learn. I live quebec, therefore I am constantly surrounded by french individuals, and occasionally I hear english. I am here for another month, and due to the circumstances at school, I was unable to make time to learn french.
I only have a month left and that is left for me to study for exams.
I know I cannot do much in this one month in quebec, but when I return back home, is there a way for me to learn french?
Interactive programs? (I heard a lot of negative remarks about rosetta stone)
For awhile I used this online program called “livemocha” and it was pretty good … but I didnt hve time to do it … but is there any other programs or anything you suggest?
I want to become fluent because I want to work in Quebec and french seems like an asset.

If you offer online tutoring in writing, do you charge per hour or per essay? I would be providing corrections and suggestions for a student who is writing essays for a university prep course. We now live in different countries, so communication will be by email. I don’t yet know how long the essays will be or how long it will take me to correct them. I expect there will be some back and forth communication by email, which could make it confusing the charge an hourly rate. I’d like to avoid tallying up minutes like a lawyer would do for a phone call.

How would you go about pricing this? Just to be clear, I’m not looking for numbers but rather pricing options — by the hour or by the essay. Thanks!
I would appreciate an answer that is relevant to the question asked.

I’m 14 years old, and wanted to be an online tutor(elementary and middle school level math), however, most tutor websites required a bachelor’s or master’s degree. Any online tutor companies suitable for me? thanks.

I am hoping to become a primary school teacher soon and I’m going to be doing an honours degree in Early Childhood Studies online (with ICS). However, does anyone know if I could do the PGCE course online?
I am a single mother – father not involved his choice – and by the time I plan on going to uni my child will be 5. So while she’s at school I could be at uni but I wouldn’t be able to work. I don’t trust unknown people with my child and will be moving away from my family. This is the reason I’ll be doing the honours degree online.
Can anyone tell me if it’s possible to do an accredited PGCE online or if not does anyone have any tips on going to uni and work while my child is at school. I’d only have evenings and weekends with her so don’t want to leave her at these times.

I am trying to start teaching online. I have several students willing to have classes online and they proposed to choose http://tutorsclass.com/. It seems to be a reliable platform and it’s convenient to operate money there.
    Has anybody used it before?
What do you think about online tutoring in general? What are advantages and disadvantages?

What school was it? Or what curriculum?
    What grade are you in?
Do you need a lot of help from parents (or tutor/teacher)?
What was a typical day like?

Do you like this form of education?
