Ok… Well I spent a lot of money to buy microsoft 2010 home and student and mainly to be able to make a good resume and to attach my resume to job sites. It still just doesn’t work. None of the job sites and specific jobs that I’m applying for still won’t allow me to attach my resume. Does anyone have any idea why? And how can I fix this problem?

I know I can post my resume on job sites, but I feel like I need to do more than that especially in this economy.
I have had my resume reviewed several times by people I know personally and be the head on Career Services in my university.

Furthermore, i have spoken to a few advisors in the hotel management school in my University, and they said it was possible for me to get a job especially with a Finance degree.

Are resumes and cover letters necessary for working at a place like Yogurtland? On the application, it already asks for references, my employment history, my education, and other stuff that would otherwise go on a resume, so would I need to write a resume that says the same thing or is that too redundant?

I am looking for a job on different job sites but I noticed that you can only post one resume to these sites, which means you really can only apply to one type of job. What if you want to apply to different kinds of jobs that require different kinds of resumes? How would you do that? For example, your resume supports your experience in graphic design but you would also like to apply to jobs such as a receptionist or office clerk?

I’m just updating my resume and there are a couple of things that caught my eye.

    1. “References available upon request”, this always seems like it would be an incontinence to whomever is hiring you. Should I just provide them anyways?

    2. Listing interests. I can understand how your interests could be relevant to how much you are passionate about your job, but this seems silly.
Jana, haha, yes you did catch that!

I would like to start looking for a job, and there is a really great job site that I found online. Instead of looking through all of the jobs and applying, I think it would be beneficial for me to post my resume on the site. However, I am afraid that someone I work with might come across my resume, and find out that I am looking for another job. What should I do to avoid this?
Can I post a resume without my name? Wouldn’t that be corny and unprofessional?
    Any other suggestions?

Freshly graduated from university with a bachelor degree. How many pages should my job application resume be and what information should I include in it? I need information specific to SEA countries. Cuz the norm is apart from education history and extra-curricular activities, I still need to include tonnes of info my photo, DOB, age, nationality. All these info won’t fit it into the so-called one-page limit (the ideal). What do I need and how much is too much? I don’t want answers that say I only need to include my contacts and names and that anything else more than that are forms of discrimination. It doesn’t work the same way here compared to US.

In case some of you fail to look, I did state that I am from SEA (South-East Asia).

I have a lot of education and a jumble of work experience, but I think it makes me look too indecisive. I don’t know if I should list everything or only things that apply to the job. I first finished an associates degree in business while working as a book keeper. Then, I attended culinary school for fun. Next, I finished a bachelor’s degree in psychology. During this time I owned a distribution business and then co-published a couple direct mailed papers and did freelance graphic art ad design. I went on to get a bachelor’s degree in business. I recently finished my masters. I was an accounting intern with a primary focus in internal auditing for three years…quit a few months ago. I have done a lot of volunteer work, too. I am going to seek an accounting position. Most people I know in finance and accounting are…uhmmm… not very interesting and normally stick with one direct path.

Also, I have seen a lot of sites offering to put your resume together. Have you used any of them? Which would you suggest?

I need to make two seperate resumes, one for customer service and one for the medial field which I currrently work in and have most of my experience in.

I have a trial of Microsoft Office word 2007 on my netbook but my mind goes blank and thats not helping at all so I am looking for either a great and easy to use resume writing program…or great resume writing TIPS because I heard people don’tuse “Objectives” anymore on their resume….My resume definitely needs to be updated I am looking for a 2nd job and even though my skills speak for themselves and I know how to present my self well in an interview, I want to be able to present myself well on paper also.

I am a 15 year old male with no work experience. However what other things should I add into the resume. Should I add some good qualities about myself that might get me hired?
