I am working towards a degree in finance in school.
Right now i do more of IT/Marketing stuff for a growing company and the hours are very flexible and the environment is great. I love working there.

Now i have a chance to go and work for Merrill Lynch as a temp in operations doing low level job. Around the same pay or more. Hours are very strict and job is boring and tedious.
However, this would be a huge resume builder for me. It’s an operations job. I hope i dont feel awkward as a guy there.

    What do you think?

I was so excited about the job, but now i heard more about it and don’t feel too excited anymore.

But even if i go to ML i can still work as a consultant for my current company.

I have Open Office, but not crazy about the program. It freezes up my PC, so I was thinking of trying an online resume builder — just wasn’t sure which one was best. Just need something to provide a basic resume. I’m not a rocket scientist 😉

I started at itt tech in norwood, ohio in December of 2010. Besides all of the crazy stuf and the divorce, I am still not graduated. I plan to go to Union Institute and Univeristy after getting my degree at itt. My question is, will a bachelors degree in criminal justice management allow me to become a juvenile probation officer in ohio? will they overlook my application because it has itt tech on it? and also do you think going to the police academy just as a resume builder will make my chances greater?

I’m using the resume builder for usajobs.gov, and it is requiring a ‘Resume Name’ for the build a resume (rather than upload one, as I don’t have one to upload).

What is the purpose for having a name for it? I trust I will need something more than just calling it ‘Resume’?

Any useful information on this would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

I’m majoring in History and double minoring in Public Relations and International Studies (int studies only for a resume builder/compliment to history) but I’m not really sure of all of my options after college. I was just wondering what kind of options I might have open to me right now, and if going into business and or politics seems like a reasonable goal or is this route heading more toward civic participation and things of that nature? I’m just looking for suggestions

At the time, I both had another job and was a full time college student, so it’s not like it looks like a gap. The job isn’t exactly a resume builder anyway (convenience store). I’m still employed at the other job and still attend college, so I’m thinking perhaps I shouldn’t list the convenience store as a previous employer to reduce the risk of the manager screwing something up for me.

I need a good resume for a job fair thats going to be at my college, but the problem is I don’t have much to put on my resume and I don’t even have a decent program to design my resume so if I handed it in as is, it looks simple, boring, and has very little on it. It stands no chance against the other resumes of hundreds of other students so if I don’t have much info to put on it, I want to at least give it a good design. I’ve looked for a day or two now and can’t find a decent FREE resume building program. Any suggestions? I don’t have the money to spend on one so it has to be free. Thanks in advance.
Didn’t think I’d need to say so, but Google is what I’ve been searching. Practically half of the ones I’ve tried to get so far are scams to get me to install virus infested programs before it let’s me install the resume builder itself or I have to pay for something else to get the “free” resume builder.

I have a lot of education and a jumble of work experience, but I think it makes me look too indecisive. I don’t know if I should list everything or only things that apply to the job. I first finished an associates degree in business while working as a book keeper. Then, I attended culinary school for fun. Next, I finished a bachelor’s degree in psychology. During this time I owned a distribution business and then co-published a couple direct mailed papers and did freelance graphic art ad design. I went on to get a bachelor’s degree in business. I recently finished my masters. I was an accounting intern with a primary focus in internal auditing for three years…quit a few months ago. I have done a lot of volunteer work, too. I am going to seek an accounting position. Most people I know in finance and accounting are…uhmmm… not very interesting and normally stick with one direct path.

Also, I have seen a lot of sites offering to put your resume together. Have you used any of them? Which would you suggest?
