Managing Your Stress on the job

Face it. Even if you are pressured beyond your limits in the office, you cant do anything about it. After all, what career does not involve any tension? The secret is to ensure that you can manage privately the job of controlling your stress!

Managing your stress threshold however can be really challenging if you are inside the business office. The work environment limitations the ways that you can control your stress. For instance, if watching TV or films relieves your stress, you can not very well do that within the office. Neither is it possible to play badminton or perhaps sing with a karaoke. One of the most that you can do is to play some quick video game, hoping that somehow it can relax you. For some people, this is sufficient but for others, it isn’t.

But there are ways to reduce the stress while looking at your office chair. Usually, the trick is to not wait for the stress amounts to go up. As they say in medicine, an ounce associated with prevention is more when compared to a pound of cure. Dont wait to get pressured, avoid it like the trouble! Heres how.

1. Eat healthful
People who are basically wholesome will have more levels of energy on which to work on. They are more able to withstand late times and are more able to keep up with long human brain activities as compared to those people who are not. To do this, youve reached eat healthy foods especially those that are rich in vitamins, nutrients and proteins. Apart from, having all the energy that you need will help you cope better with tension when it happens.

2. Slumber
Sleeping provides the entire body the rest that it needs. Brain activity and bodily functions slow down when individuals are sleeping. Muscle tissues also relax. When the body lacks rest, energy levels go down as well as the brain becomes dizzy. This results to less well off concentration, which in the long run can become detrimental in your job functions. Therefore, one way to avoid tension altogether is have the requisite 8 hours or even more sleep. It will do you good.

3. Exercise
Another way to combat stress and also to prevent it from happening altogether is always to have a daily work or an exercise routine. Specialists say that a person must exercise 30 minutes each day to successfully keep the body in shape and healthy. Workout strengthens our resistance and surprisingly increases the energy levels. It helps maintain the stressors at bay because it relaxes the muscle tissues and keeps air flowing freely via breathing techniques.

4. Control time
Nothing can make you more stressful than not managing your time nicely. Just ask people who are used to cramming for tests or for work assignments. Planning your time correct and doing what you’re supposed to do promptly will help keep the triggers away. Besides, by doing your assignments and work load piece by piece allows you to relax while doing the work and gives you enough time and energy to really work on it if the boss decides to be real early.

5. Smiling
Being happy as well as optimistic is the amount stress buster there’s. Do you know that grinning can help keep the muscles in the face relaxed? It really uses less muscle tissues than when you are frowning. Therefore laugh on the job whilst it cool.

    I’m not gonna say what my job is only that it is very stressful. Today I had to stay an extra hour and by the time I left I thought I was gonna die. I have two more days of work this week and I really don’t know how I will be able to handle it especially since my boss is not that great of a boss at all. Tell me how should I handle stress at work?

    I live in a very stressful environment and have had a stress headache for a week! Well, I’m bothered by stress because I know it produces fat, and I really don’t want to gain weight from stress.     I don’t understand. I mean, I have read tonnes of stuff about sleepwalking and they mention that stress is a contributing factor (among other things) to sleepwalking. Why is this? I can’t seem to find out why, anywhere.

    The reason I don’t understand is because when someone sleepwalks they do so while in REM sleep and during that time we go through sleep paralysis, don’t we?

    I have tried to get in to the Holiday spirit for the past Week or so. I have been able to do so for the past many years. This year it is hard because of my environment. Some stress has been going on in my life sometimes. The main component is my school. I HATE my school. Everybody there is a jerk. It has a depressing atmosphere and I Dread it every day. It is nice being home, but I dread it knowing I must go back there some time later on. What can I do to truly be Christmas Happy? My grades are fine.     I manage about 20 people – too many of whom are teenagers. Some days are great and some workers are great – this is the rewarding part of the job, but does anyone else just get burned out by the people they manage sometimes? They have no idea how draining it can be to put up with all their drama and excuses…
    Please somebody, tell me you deal with this feeling too on occasion.

    This chick is so infuriating… she is covering the job of one of my colleagues for 2 months and she does NOTHING. I have to ask her and make sure she does her work otherwise she will just sit there. I have told management and they are aware of the problem but nothing has been done. She has just been given 2 weeks off while her parents are over on holiday… I have worked my a*se off for the past 6 weeks and I am not allowed to have a day off because we need 2 people in this office at all times. She has been here less than 6 months. WHY is she getting special treatment??

    I have a close friend who owns a small business.
    This past few months have been very difficult for her. She has struggled to keep her business afloat mainly due to low morale within the workforce and staff sickness.
    She is extremely concerned just now as two of her staff have been off sick with stress-related illnesses. She has real fears of being sued as one member of her team has complained that her illness has been made worse due to her work and believes my friend (her employer) has not given sufficient support?
    I know my friend is a caring person and does try hard to support her staff.
    What advice can I give her to help her cope?

    Ok so I am a receptionist at a spa and just recently one of the receptionist got promoted to an assistant manager. Well the employees have always had a problem with her because of her excessive micro managing but she still got promoted.(she is also close friends with the owner of the spa.) now this spa is a franchise and has to go through corparate for lots of things. I have complained many times about her over baring ways and so has about every other employee there. well the other day one of the employees caught her in the office writing a list. and on this list it had everything that everyone did wrong. so this employee went on the computer later on that evening and printed out pages and pages of very excessive tabs on all employees that worked there. It also had something in there of what I did on MY day OFF!!! it said I went out to dinner with a few of the other employees. the exact frase was:
    10/23/08 “Interesting Tidbit: Name1, Name2,Name3 all went to friday’s together……..Just interesting…….”
    I am very concerned I do not know what to do about this can someone please help me!!???

    okay, so i sort of understand what it is, but then again i don’t know what exactly what it is and how you know if you’re stressed.
    they say chocolate can reduce stress because it releases horomones or something, but how exactly does this work.
    Please explain what stress is in an understandable way.

    I am a British engineering manager in a design house in England. We design hi-tech microchips for mobile phones. We are owned by a big American corporation.

    I work with the US workforce on a daily basis but report to a VP who is British. He is the founder of a British start-up firm that made it to the big time and he made his millions (and a bit for us) by selling it to the American firm. He has conservative opinions on how the design house should maintain its british approach that made it so successful.

    The US want us to use their procedures but this causes the engineers here to work late hours when the US is awake (8hr time difference). He hates the kind of place it has become and wants to leave in a year or so (when his shares vest).

    Its inevitable that we will eventually be swept up into the arms of the global hyper-corporation! Unfortuantely for me I manage a team of UK and US engineers. So how do I cope? The more I Americanize the place myself the tougher it gets.

    If you tell people that you’re stress from relationships, friendships and work places. Is it going to get better! Does this show any indication that told them you’re trap in a harsh enviroment or shows any clues at all if you tell a person you’re stress out?     lately, i have been getting kinda light headed.
    it seems like when you just start to fall asleep, and your not totally out yet. I get that feeling, and random headaches. more or less sinus like headachs, but i have never had this kind before. does anyone have a round about thoery Before i had to the doctors. I want to get info on it.

    fem calculate coupled structural and thermal stress like visualfea and abaqus. coupled means the fem software use the same mesh to calculate structural stress and then thermal stress and structural stress and thermal stress is shown independently.

    however, i want the result to reflect both structural stress and thermal stress together. does that means i can simply add the result of the structural stress and thermal stress together to reflect the total stress?

    I have come home from work in a daze, feeling exhausted, upset and in a mad mood generally. It takes a good few hours to come around. I only work weekends in a very busy office answering phone call after phone call and there are only 3 members of staff whereas on a week they have 6. Today I was the first one to take dinner at 2pm in the afternoon because literally the phones didn’t stop once. Management even had the nerve to criticize the work we are doing on a weekend like we are the only ones in the company who make mistakes. I know my colleagues feel just as bad, they dread coming to work and sometimes people cry at work. This is a part time job for me while I study for a masters degree in history. So I’m balancing this manic job with a stressful dissertation. Is it me over reacting or is this stress not fair on me?

    Here’s the thing. I never get stressed, about anything at all. I’m always really calm about things.
    When things are really busy at work,
    stress level = 0
    When I need to study for exams,
    stress level = 0

    For instance, I’m failing university right now, pretty badly actually. I just don’t do anything productive ever but I never get stressed about these things. I have an exam in about five hours and I should be studying right now.
    stress level = 0

    Why am I not stressed out about these things?
    I’m not enjoying life to its fullest at all. I’m doing the exact opposite of enjoying life.
    I don’t want to be failing uni and I do care about my grades a lot.

    I just don’t feel motivated to do anything productive.

    How come when i divide the stress caused from a wire under loading by the mass used, it equals the same stress value caused at 1.0kg?
    i.e stress at 1.0kg = 69084507N/m^2
    stress at 3.0kg = 207253521N/m^2
    divided by 3.0kg = 69084507N/m^2

    At the moment I’m going through a hard time, accused of having done something I didn’t do or know about. But the problem is it is stressing me out, I get a tightness in my chest, I tremble and I sometimes find it hard to breath. I feel detached from myself most of the times, and on several occasions I have fainted for no reason. On anti depressants for months yet I still feel bad. any ideas please

    i should have received my period on oct. 20 but i didnt. so im about 14days late. i had sex twice with protection. and while i was about 5 days late i had unprotected sex but he pulled out. i have taken 4 different brands of test all negative. and also a first response today. it was negative. am i pregnant or stressed?

    All women get on the nerves of the other women, and all men get on the nerves of the other men. They compete to be smarter, better-looking, etc. etc. They always feel that they are busier and do way more than the next person. However, they all manage to put up this front towards each other that everything is cool. In fact, some of them even go out to lunch together. I’m not trying to sound negative, but this is something that I have observed to be true. What do you all think?

    I know they can concentrate better in exams and focus more on their school work. They will be in better health, etc. But what else?? pertaining to their school life/ work, relationships, family life..etc.

    (in other words..the benefits of stress management(teens))
