I have low income and my health insurance is “blueshield active start 35” and the monthly cost/premium is about $200/month.

Can Obamacare reduce my monthly premium? And when can this go into effect?

    Many thanks

I am a 21 year old female residing in Ohio, and am looking for some health insurance, including dental if possible. What are some options that won’t cost a whole lot for my minimum wage budget?

I am unemployed and dependent on my mom for support. For the past several years all I have earned is a minimal amount of unearned income(below minimum amount to file) on a savings account and a certificate of deposit. I heard from someone that you should file for the past six years because the IRS can hold you criminally responsible if you didn’t file and should have. I know I don’t owe any money, but should I back file for at least the past six years? I am also concerned because I am applying for state health insurance(for low income and poor people)and the insurance program wants my social security number and they will use my ssn to check my latest tax form. If they don’t find a tax form will I be in trouble with IRS or possibly be audited? Also if I did back file, do I have to pay a late filing fee for each year(I think it is a $100.00 per year) even though I won’t owe any taxes. Also, is there any reason to backfile beyond six years if I don’t owe anything?

Hillary said that she would make it a “mandate” for all Americans to purchase private healthcare insurance. Romney and Guiliani say that people can purchase health care insurance through tax credits, and…?

With 47 million uninsured Americans unable to get it, how can our candidates and government EXPECT people like me to able to afford between $1800 to $3000 a month private health insurance policies?

Has anyone really put some serious *thought* into addressing this crisis with the uninsured and low-income–instead of just adding what I see as “Band-Aid” solutions to a growing problem here in the country?

    Pre-existing restrictions eliminated.
No cap on life time medical benefits.
These provisions will definitely raise health care insurance premiums and make it further harder for low income to afford health insurance.
    Are these Oxymoron?

What is the logic in forcing low income families to pay a penalty tax if they cannot afford to buy health insurance? Also…I’ve heard that if you choose to have non-government provided insurance, they will penalize you to such a degree that you will most likely be unable to afford private insurance. Help me to understand Obamacare.

Health insurance laws are currently decided by individual states and now with talk of allowing states to opt out what really is the point of this being decided by the federal government?

My state has a public option for low income individuals and families so why don’t democrats just push their own state to reform health insurance?

Hello, I am a nineteen community college student living in North San Diego, California and I live with my parents. I make less that $1,000 a month working part time and going to school full-time. I get financial aid from my school, but only for the classes, not the books. My father, the only other worker in my family, makes roughly around $32,000 a year. We barely make the rent each month and barely have enough for gas. About when I was sixteen, I was diagnosed with Gallstones and was urged to better my choice of eating. Of course as a Mexican-American, I wasnt about to give up my Carne Asada or burgers so I continued my vices which led to various, and very painful gallstones attacks over the past couple of years. Now I am no longer able to eat anything without feeling sick to my stomach. I was cut out on all junk food and have pinned myself to a “grilled/boiled” chicken only and greens diet. I don;t eat any red meat and make sure to have fresh made fruit/vegetables smoothies. Yet, for the past four days, Like i said i haven;t been able to pass anything. I am currenly runng every morning. My father thinks I have an ulcer. So, straight to the point, I am a low-income college student with no money left over at the end of each month and I need to go to the doctor’s immediately. I am an american citizen but have no health insurance at the moment. I need surgery to remove the gallstones, but first have to go an have a checkup. I was wondering if there was anyway that i can get covered? My mother applied for medi-cal but we havent heard anything in over four months and its a LONG process. Can Anyone please help me!

My husband and I have 3 children, he is our only source of income bringing home roughly 700-900 bi-weekly depending on if he receives overtime. Our three children are on medicaid and him and I are not eligible since we have income coming in. We have fairly high rent and a car payment as well as other bills and are just making it barely as It is now. My husband and I are in need of insurance to get things checked out, his work is now having open enrollment for health insurance and for him and I only it will be $130 bi-weekly. That will put us in a more difficult spot financially. I am unsure what options are available since we are low income or if we need to sign up before the deadline with his work. My husband and I are both young and very clueless on insurance details so trying to research myself is becoming very much overwhelming. Any HELP is greatly appreciated, please don’t reply if you are going to be rude. Thank you

many people are uninsured simply because they cannot afford it-at any price, now they will be forced to pay for something they can’t afford, doesn’t make any since to me, my bet is that many will pay nothing at all, it will be an extension of welfare and abused, nothing changes…

If we are to have mandatory health insurance, how will low income people pay for it? I’m already struggling with what little I have now. I can’t afford to take on anymore. I know we can still go to our doctor of choice but, but again how will we pay for this insurance?? Also I have never had any sort of medical insurance just for the fact I can’t afford any.

I am currently putting my husband through school. Our household runs on my pay check alone. My children qualify for free insurance with healthwave, which we are very grateful for. but I was shocked to find that my husband and I don’t qualify. There is no way in hell we can afford to buy our own health insurance so I was wondering if there are any other options for us.

The state of Pennsylvania (where I live) requires that free government assisted health insurance such as “Medicaid” only be reserved for mothers with young children and those on disability such as SSI. So what free/low cost insurance is available in the state of PA for those who are poor, unemployed (I look for work, I just can’t get hired), and desperate? Due to being extremely overweight I have an enlarged liver that swells up and puts painful pressure on my body every now and then, as well as suffer excruciating headaches when I get overexerted (for some reason that only happens when I’m about to climax during sex. I know TMI, LoL). But as you can see, I need health insurance yet I don’t have any?

So… What health insurance is out there for people with low income, in the state of PA?
I’m not trolling or trying to be funny, I’m a genuine person looking for real answers. I know that most of the people here at Y.A. is kind of conservative and hate the poor. But y’all gotta understand that there’s other people in this world who have limited options. They as well as I, didn’t ask to be in this world inhabited by selfish people who religiously believe in “survival of the fit”. We are not animals, we’re human beings who are supposed to help each other.
