A family friend is offering me a position as a life insurance sales rep in a firm that he works at. He will show me the ropes and will help me get a license. Im making 30, 000 a year now and receive medical and dental benefits. The income from the sales job would be strictly commission based. Is it worth the risk?

I thought life insurance policies were for the remaining family members after a person’s death. For instance, the main worker in the family should get a life insurance policy to ensure their spouse and children have enough money if somethign were to happen.

Now since children do not contribuite to a household income. Why would there be life insurance? Besides the funeral costs, their death would not impact a family financially, would it? I just saw a commercial for one, and it got me wondering. I am only 16, so no rude comments if I have the point of life insurance all wrong here.

Say my mom has a life insurance policy for $100,000 and she passes away. She is not married and I would be the beneficiary on the policy. If she has individual debts like medical bills and car loans, would the policy pay those first, or would the funds pay to me? There really wouldn’t be any other money in the estate besides the policy, and I want to make sure we plan everything right. Not to be morbid, I just don’t know.
Thank you guys! It was so helpful and really eases a pretty difficult time for us!

Looking to get life insurance on myself. Need to replace 70K per year income in the event of my death. Need to support my wife and 4 year old son. What type of insurance would be best, and what type of investment advice could be given for my family to invest the money and live off the interest, leaving the principal untouched?

I don’t understand, won’t you be dead or something so what does it do for you?

What happens if it doesn’t get cashed in, what does that mean?

Sorry I don’t understand, please explain.

I am 27 years old, in very good health. I have never had any medical conditions or issues and I am looking to buy life insurance. I know that medical exams are usually required for most life insurance policies, but I was just looking for about $150,000 worth of coverage and I was wondering if I would be required to undergo a medical exam?

I want to get life insurance for my mom. I support her financially because she has a medical problem and she cannot work. If I die or something happens she will end up on the street and I won’t let that happen. She doesn’t have a retirement or anything I support my mom so she doesn’t have anything to fall back on. Right now we live on 3,000 a month 36K a year. I can afford an extra 120 for the life insurance premium monthly (I think that’s what it’s called premium ?) So she would need edleast 1,080,000 to live for 30 years. She is 33 by the way and I am 18 and work for the railroad. I want to know she will live normally for 30 years and hopefully get better and be able to work so she can. Make the life insurance money last longer. I need to know the best plans and what are the things to look out for ? I am planning on getting one on her incase god forbid something happens to her so edleast I can fall back on some money. Because incase I Lose my job I need something to fall back on.

We recently found out we are expecting a baby and need to open a life insurance policy in case something would happen to him so we’d be taken care of. We have insurance that is paid for by his employer. How do we go about getting life insurance? Is it added to our existing medical insurance, or can we get it separately?

My fiance & I have been on public-aid our whole lives. He’s 19 now so he no longer qualifies for it. I’m 18 & 5 months pregnant. He doesn’t mind not having any insurance, but it really bothers me. Just for the fact that we have a baby coming & we need to make sure we’d be okay in case anything happened. He has a good paying-stable job, & I want him to have some sort of insurance. What kind of insurance is there that’s not too expensive but that we (baby & I) can hopefully join in on when I turn 19 & when the baby is born.

I am 28 years old (never smoked, very healthy, etc…), and will be 30 years old when I graduate from medical school. I heard that insurance companies won’t approve a dollar amount if it’s too high based on your income. As a 2nd year medical student, I do not have any income (other than financial aid).

Should I be buying a policy for a low amount and then cancel it and buy a new one in two years after I get my M.D.?

Also, what’s a new doctor’s life earning potential in the U.S.? i.e. how much in life insurance should my goal be to have eventually?

Roughly speaking, what is a good policy premium in your personal opinion?

Any help/advice/links would be much appreciated.

Thank you for your time in advance.
Hello, and thank you for your responses. I do not have any dependents, but I do want to get married and have kids someday. I figured it might be a good idea to get into a policy at a young age (since policies are cheaper when you’re younger) before I wake up one day at 40, and have kids and the whole nine yards.

You may ask, what if I die before I have kids or a wife? Why would I need a policy? Well, first off, it’s unlikely I’m going to die in the next 10 years (statistically speaking). Second, please note that my family sacrificed so much for me to be where I am today (my parents, brother, and sister). I come from a very poor background. My parents ended up selling their house to get me through undergrad. For medical school, they are still helping out immensely (along with federal financial aid). If I have no dependents when I die (in the unlikely scenario where I end up dying in the next decade), I would like to know that they got back “something for their investment” (i.e. me). I

I live in London. I am remortgaging my flat. The money I am borrowing is £87,000 payable in 11 years.I have been offered life insurance coverage for £20 per month. This is to pay whatever balance is left if I die before the full mortgage period. Is this reasonable? If not, could you please recommend a good insurance provider.

    Thank you!

If someone who works in a large company and receives basic life insurance are they examined by doctors paid for by the company. Or is it ‘group’ and not subject to medical examinations?

I was given a quote for life insurance ($40 a month and I am 27) and now I just had a phone interview about my previous health conditions….I said yes that I had depression and was seeking a psychologist about it and that before I was pregnant (am pregnant now) I drank 14 units of alcohol a week…I also said I suffer from asthma. How much and will the quote go up do you think from this information?
I am in Australia and it is life insurance here 🙂

Is it true that when you turn 60, your life insurance carrier makes you have a mandatory physical, and if you do not pass they do not renew your policy?? That seams awfully fishy to me. My mother in law is very ill, we are concerned about the future of my father in law, he claims he cannot collect her policy because this happened to her….I dont know if I trust him, he seems pretty out of it, with worry. Anyone know?????

I want to get a life insurance policy and would like to know more about what type to get. Just want a policy that will pay out if I die (car accident, cancer, illness, etc etc) and not really one that has cash value cause I think those are more expensive. Also any “good” companys that I can get a rate from? Thanks!
