Avoiding the particular Threat of Web Job Scams

Becoming jobless does not mean that you need to grab every work opportunity that comes the right path. You should still workout extra caution especially since Internet job ripoffs are present and genuine. There are tips that can help you in selection your job prospects online so you can avoid possible scams.

A prospective applicant should not have expenses during job applications. There is by no means a legitimate employment agency or Internet work website that will cost an applicant upfront with regard to fees. These employment agencies usually need payment only right after it has successfully gave you a job. Also, as soon as you give payment regarding supposed processing charges, if a company features a no-refund policy, chances are that it’s an Internet job con.

There are many advertisements obtainable in the web that promises immediate job employment but when you actually click on the advertisement link, you will end up redirected to a phony website. Most of the time, the lack of professionalism of the style and management of these websites is a sure signal that the ads are part of an Internet career scam. From here, both fraudsters will carry out phishing or acquire hypersensitive information from the unsuspicious victim or they are able to mislead the target into a job rip-off.

Aside from these suspect advertisements of work offers, unsolicited e-mail of job opportunities are a possible Web job scam. To make sure, check the credentials from the website offering work employment before replying to the email. When it is similar to a junk e-mail email, avoid responding to it and as an alternative define it as junk e-mail for immediate deletion.

Remember, research is the best gun against scams. You can quickly identify a phony job employment program just by conducting a sufficient research. In this case, it is simple to identify Internet career scams if it claims you a job but fails to provide you lawful and accurate files of an actual software.

I have a physical disability that prevents me from getting an outside job; I have full use of my upper body.

What would be some really good home-based jobs that I could consider doing? I’m not interested in scams, or get rich quick “jobs”. What I am interested in are things like starting my own business or having a stable Internet based job. I’m on limited income, so I don’t really have a lot of excess money to invest in something right now. Can you provide any help? Thanks!

I’m not looking for a spectacular amount of money, just a little supplementary income, and I hope to avoid the glut of scams that seems to dominate the internet job market. I’ve heard there are some worthwhile data entry jobs out there. In your experience, what are some of the places I should check out or apply to?

Hi, i was just offered an internet job involving transactions. I want to know if you think this is a identity theft and a fake buisness.

I got an email saying that the fabrics store owner needs a US account they can transfer money from costumers to their buisness. For this they are giving me 10% of every transaction. The fabrics story is located in a few US states and i believe a few in China. The e mail “from managment” as it said, told me that this is a great oppartuinity for me and them becasue they need some1 in my region. Now i got their latest e mail syaing there is been a problem with checking transfer so they said the following line Firstly,Wire transfer to bussiness account of anybank and that is if it’s your own bussiness or Secondly, transfering the money into your credit card information) Do you think this is a scam or some sort of identity theft or is this serious, because i gave them my name and contact information as well as address already….

Money is tight around our house. My husband and I have been pulling odd jobs lately trying to make ends meet. Well, I checked the mail today, and my husband got a check for $2,850. It came from out-of-state, and it came with a typed note saying, “email me with the subject being “Awaiting Further Instructions”.

So… I logged onto my husband’s email. Apparently he fell for the typical Craigslist scam of “give me your name and address and I will mail you a check and tell you what to do with it.”

This guy wants us to send a money order to the Phillipines!!! $2,600 to be exact. Even better, I googled the return address. I found the number to the apartment complex and asked them about that particular apartment. It’s been empty for 3 months.

This doesn’t look good. What do I do now??? I can’t let me husband just do something illegal and this looks very fishy.

Every time I look into a job on the internet, it ends up being a job I have to pay for. If I have to pay to get a job, doesn’t that become an oxymoron? I want a job, so that I can work and get paid, not pay for my job. They call it an investment, well why do I have to invest in a job that entails typing for a living out of my home. I’m already investing money by paying for the computer and internet connection which allows me to do the job in the first place. Also, why are these helpful job sites redirecting me to colleges? I don’t want to go to school, I want to make money, my bills are more than enough now, why do I want to add another one?

  59. Lorenzo June 1, 2014 at 5:15 am Reply

I posted a resume on Craigslist, a guy hired me through the Internet. Apparently he is located in California. He emails me a list daily with 80-100 names and addresses on there including an amount of money next to each name. My job is to fill that info into a check printing software and print all the checks using check paper I bough from office max. Sometimes he changes the bank info, and the business name that it’s coming from. Sometimes it’s a college, and sometimes something else. These businesses and colleges the checks are supposed to be from are in fact real locations. I don’t have to put any of my information anywhere on the checks or labels I print using FedEx. The guy gives me a new FedEx account daily to use with the list, and I don’t use my address on FedEx to ship them because the FedEx account is under another name and address so the ones receiving the checks see it as coming from somewhere else. Some of the names and addresses that appear on new lists that he gives me appear again, which leads me to believe that these may be real people receiving a regular salary or so. But I’ve encountered these same names twice a week since I’ve only been at this job for one week. The addresses seem to be real since they show up on google maps of I search one of them. But this guy who hired me, I’ve never met him, or know for a fact his location. He is supposed to pay me next week, but I’m afraid this job may be a scam and illegal. I really don’t want to print a single check any more because I’m scared I’ll get into trouble. He also says ill be picking up money from western union soon and ive read that that may be part of what common scams are. Please tell me if this is legit, some say printing checks at home is illegal, but then why does office max sell check paper? Regardless of this job being legit or not I want to quit, so can I still get paid for what I’ve worked for if I quit? (I heard you only get paid if you get fired) Please help, I’m 17 with no job experience, I may be a victim of a scam.
