How to Tell if On the web Learning Would Work to suit your needs

Online learning keeps growing in leaps and bounds every year. From college degrees, superior certificates or just 1 or 2 classes, students are finding online learning a great alternative to the traditional classroom setting. If online studying sounds like an option you want to try, evaluate the strengths and weaknesses before you sign up so you can see if on the internet learning would work for you.

Students who function online must be self-directed learners. Procrastinators can have trouble organizing enough time to get function done because they believe they can just sign on the computer whenever they use a spare moment. Think back to the last few deadlines you needed. If you were rushing about at the last second to complete your work, then online learning may leave you feeling frazzled. There will not be a school teacher standing over a person making sure you finish projects. If you are a person who requirements someone reminding them constantly about completing work or staying on task then online learning might be a challenge for you. You will need organization and determination when learning online.

Conversations and assignments utilize email, class planks and forums. Online learners must be at ease with their writing skills and writing messages readily available for the entire class to view. Some correspondence will be between the professor and student only, but most of the class is conducted in a discussion file format utilizing discussion boards. You should also be comfortable with computer systems and different computer programs. Many online classes let you work with a basic word digesting program and certain spreadsheet programs. Depending on the class, you may need to become acquainted with something new, and the easier you learn applications the faster you can begin completing assignments. A dependable Internet connection is also required for enrolling in an online training course. If you must travel to the library or a friend’s house with regard to Internet access, you restrict the amount of time you can work on assignments.

Sitting in any classroom can get tedious at times, but some students thrive on the class environment. If you have in no way experienced online learning, you may find that you miss the classroom surroundings and peer interaction. Assess how much you enjoy going to classes and discussing things along with other students and your instructor. If you are very social, you may feel remote at home working on assignments. You might consider taking only one class on the internet and doing the rest of the classes at school.

Busy parents need to assess simply how much free time they have at home. Online learning is fantastic for many parents juggling work, family and school. But if your home is comfortably chaotic, obtaining time to get online and complete assignments might be tough. If your computer is in a shared space, you also need to consider how much time other family members need the computer.

When possible, set up a computer schedule for each family member before your online class commences. This way, you are not fighting with anyone to leave the computer so you can take a test. It also helps in the event you keep a running log so family members can request specific, unscheduled computer time with regard to unexpected work. After some planning, online learning is doable for everyone and provides the benefit of being able to complete an education at home.

I did online classes this last semester and really screwed it up, and now I have to retake all of my core classes online again, but this time out of the house and at the school I went to last year. Last year I got great grades in their actual classes, and took great pride in that, but now I’ll be coming back a complete failure, and really embarrassed with myself. How do I stay motivated to do good? Do you have any tips and tricks to make online learning a breeze for someone who works best in a classroom setting? Are online classes in a school easier than the at home programs? Thanks in advance!

I know you need to have internet access, but that’s it. I’ve never done this before but I am considering it since it’s convenient, I don’t have to travel back and forth from home to school, and don’t have to be face to face with students and teachers (since I’m shy.) Is it better than taking traditional on campus classes? What are the pros and cons of each? It’s hard for me to go to school during the day because I have to work, so I’m thinking either online, night, and/or weekend classes. I think it’s better to be present in the class because I will probably learn better that way, what do you think? Hmmm….IDK. Opinions and inputs will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
The best opinions are probably those who have taken online classes before so they can relate to me.
One other reason why I don’t want to take traditional on campus classes is because I’m afraid of making speeches in front of the whole class. Ugh, that’s like my worst nightmare. I have stage fright. I care too much about what my classmates will think of me. I shouldn’t, but I do. I’m okay if all we do is sit down, read a lot, listen to the teacher lecture, and write a bunch of essays but I dread making speeches in front of the whole class. Yikes!

    Hi,
I’ve been looking at colleges that offer e-learning and most of them say they are regionally accredited. For example, one of the colleges I’ve been looking at, Empire State College, is regionally accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, which covers New York and some other states.
    My questions are:

    1) If I went to this college online and got credits, would these credits be transferable to other online schools that are regionally accredited by either the same organization and/or other organizations?

    2) If I went to this school online, or any other online college that is accredited by a different organization, would the credits I get be transferable to a college in real life (as in not online)?
i.e I go to Empire State College online, then I want to transfer my credits to another university such at NYU.

    3) This is where accreditation confuses me. Let’s say one school is regionally accredited by an organization that only covers New York, and another school is regionally accredited by an organization that only covers Florida. If I wanted to transfer my credits from the school in NY to the school in Florida, would I be able to do so?

And that’s pretty much is. Sorry if these questions make me look stupid. All of this just confuses me.

Thanks in advance to any helpful answers.
*question number 3 applies to online colleges and real life ones, BTW.

I’ve watched So You Think You Can Dance online and fell in love with contemporary dance. I’m trying to learn it by myself at home, but I think I need more technique. I sure have the feeling & stuff, but not the technique. So I was wondering, does anybody know and could show me a website or something which teaches routines or contemporary dance moves?
The thing is, i do know it would be better to take classes, but there isn’t any place where to learn contemporary dance close to where I live, so my only chance is to learn by myself.

I am a 26 year old mother of 4, so needless to say, I have a rather hectic schedule. I am unable to work, due to the high costs of childcare, so I thought this would be a great time to go back to school. I would prefer to go to the County College in my area, because it is cheaper, and the options of certain professions are higher than most online colleges. I am not really sure about about which profession to major in, so I was wanting to take my basics. Anyway since I am unable to attend college on campus I am interested in Online Colleges. I have looked at 100’s of colleges. I have read good reviews and bad reviews. I know you will only get out, as much as you put in. I am most definitely up for the challenge. I am just really scared about online colleges. I attended University of Phoenix for a year before I withdrew. That place was horrible. It was great in the beginning, but then every 8 weeks they were increasing my tuition fee. When I asked why, they literally had no explanation. UoP has also been using the same material for years, so therefore when you have a essay to write, with a limited amount of subjects to choose from, your paper comes back plagiarized every time. I have never cheated a day in my life. It was just a bad experience for me. Now I am scared that it will be the same at a different school.

So I am asking if anybody has attended a decent online college, for which they were able to benefit from? Any advise would be greatly appreciated, and Thank You in advance…

okay, so I have an appointment with the guidance councilor of the cbe learning homeschooling program. Apparently I have to talk to him and he decides if I should be homeschooled or not. I’m not even sure what to say to him. The reasons why I want to be homeschooled are because I hate the drama that goes on in school and I feel it really distracts me from what I’m learning. I also feel like teachers are ignorant and i have never had good experiences with them. I also feel like I barely learn anything even though I am in the highest academic class in my school. I’m nervous he will just tell me i should go to a different school or that just because of drama and bullying thats not a good enough reason. PLus, I am overweight and I know sitting in front of a computer will not help much with my weight problem. I am on weight watchers and have started a daily excersise program, but I will not be able to lose much weight because my appointment is next week. I have a job and I’m going to start art courses at academy of learning. I’m just scared that my weight will contribute a lot to his decision to say no.

Sorry I wrote so much for you to read, but I really need answers because I’m stressed out 🙁

    Following wall not really relevant.
Hi, I’ve turned 15 earlier this year and it recently hit me that I hadn’t accomplished anything of worth yet. I’ve got a lot of free time and after failing Japanese in school, I’d like to have a second go in learning a second language and eventually become fluent in it. I’m Asian, a proud supporter of the Korean E-Sports scene and am somewhat into K-Pop, so I’ve decided to try and Learn Korean as a second language.

    The Question.
I don’t really have the money to attend private classes, so I’d like to learn online, so if anyone has any experience in learning a language online, please assist me in suggesting resources, guides, free private teaching or general tips in learning Korean.

And they don’t tell you how to use it when speaking. A really good website that does all this would be fab. And another website for Italian with the same applied. Thanks!

Is there a website for videos where I can learn “basic” techniques and strategies?
Thanks for the truth guys. So if I can’t go about doing it online, and I also cannot go to a school or gym, what should I do? I’m completely confused at this point. It is really important to me that I learn a fighting style for my protection in the case that I get into a fight at school.

I have started weightlifting for a few days, but I will not get any bigger if I don’t eat more (thats my big problem…I don’t eat enough)

My grammar is far from perfect. I posted a story online so that I could get feedback on how good or bad it was. I mostly just got back a lot of comments about how terrible my grammar is. Whenever I asked them what was wrong with the grammar and how could I fix it they just said, “Go to school stupid kid, learn to read and write.” I know, very rude, but they have inspired me learn how to use grammar correctly.

I am in seventh grade and my teacher does teach us the California state standards, I know and remember really basic lessons like when to use when to use among, amid, and between.

It would be helpful if someone out there could tell me about some online games that can help me with my grammar for writing stories and essays. If they are organized into lessons and there are quizzes for the lessons like they do at school that would be great. If the setup is like that or similar then I can easily study on weekends.

If you want also tell me how to fix the grammar in this questions go right ahead. Just make sure that you explain why it is wrong. Please try to put all opinions in a polite way.

Thank you all ahead of time!
