If the latest Nokia phone model has been announced and you simply can’t wait till Christmas, read on for the lowdown of how to fund your next Nokia purchase.
Good Old Fashioned Saving
It may take time and involve a bit of patience but good old fashioned saving is the best way to make a large purchase without getting into debt. Buy a money pot which needs to be smashed in order to be accessed and try to put as many five pound notes and gold coins as you can in there. You’d be surprised how quickly you can save up a decent amount. Don’t wait for a new phone to actually be released; the second you hear rumours of a new model you fancy then you should start saving.
Lose the Old Phone
Why not make it simple? Sell your old phone to fund your new one. Plenty of places will give you money for your old phone; the model you have will obviously have aneffecton how much you get. There are a number of places which let you sell your old Nokia E72 phone or other models to them for cash.
Recycle your old stuff
It’s not just your old handset you can make money from – do you have anything else you no longer use? Have a look around your house and you are bound to find something. Old computer games, old consoles, books, CD’s. We all hang on to things because we think we’ll need them, but what we really need them for is to cash them in for newer stuff!
Give up a Luxury
Give up on one thing you spend money on every week until you’ve saved the money. The chances are you will be doing yourself a healthy favour. Are you a chocoholic? A fast food fiend? Perhaps you make a habit of buying expensive branded make up? Switch to cheaper make-up brands for a short while, or cut out the take outs and chocolate. Put all that spare cash into a money pot and give yourself a massive pat on the back when you have saved enough for a phone.
Check your Direct Debits
If you have a number of direct debits in place have a look through them and see where you can cut back. It’s sometimes easy to find better car, home or phone insurance or you may be able to save money by cancelling the gym membership you never use or a magazine subscription you hardly read anymore. Transfer the exact amount you are saving into a savings account each month so you don’t get used to the extra money and you will have enough to buy your phone in no time.
Times may feel tough but there’s always a way to fund you next Nokia purchase, either by selling your old one or buy selling something else you don’t use. Saving up spare coins or cutting out direct debits are other effective ways to save money. However you save for or fund your phone it will feel well earned when you finally have it in your hands.
