What are the top schools for distance learning that are legitimate? Even if I eventually wanted to get a masters. Phoenix and school like it seem VERY VERY cheezy.

    Any suggestions?

Because of my job, I have to get it 100% online. Has anyone gotten their master’s from a school that didn’t cost them an arm and a leg? If so, would you do the same again?

I finished a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from the US, but then I had to go back home. Currently, I signed up for the ONLY environmental science program available in my home country. This is my experience so far:

    1. Ecology Professor: he teaches us ecology from Wikipedia articles and answers.com articles, without mentioning the resources AT ALL (yup, plagiarized, totally).

    2. Environmental Impact Assessment: semester project, “Imagine” a project and use EIA to evaluate it.

    3. Statistics: the students managed to convince the professor (when I was not around) to CANCEL the midterm, and have the class be evaluated by 50% project, 50% final. I objected later on, but, well, he seemed willing to reverse this, but next class period he said nothing.

I desperately need to pursue a master’s degree, but my husband is working here, and I have a 2 year old as well. The program is very cheap tuition wise because I am a citizen, but it is emotionally draining due to its mediocre teaching standards.

I wouldn’t enjoy an online degree, but if I have to, I might get one from UK or US (Johns Hopkins has one).

What should I do? Should I drop out of the local program? It’s only my first semester and I am extremely miserable. Especially that all that I have been exposed to so far is material we already learned at the Bachelor’s level.

    Thanks.

Do you have to have a master’s degree in psychology before you can pursue your psy.D?
Or can you enter into a psy.D program straight out of undergrad? I am currently a junior in college and majoring in psychology, but I’m not sure the steps I need to take to be a clinical psychologist. I want to get a psy.D for sure, I know that much. I also am curious how competitive it is to get into a psy.D program – is it as difficult as being accepted into a phD program? I hear those are incredibly difficult to get into. I go to a very good school but my GPA is running about a B average. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks much.

Great info, although the more research I do I find that an mba may not be worth its cost, a lot of people complaining that it is not performing the way it was sold to them.

I live in West Los Angeles and most of the schools that offer a master’s course in Public Administration or Public Policy are only available through sit-in courses. My work schedule is extremely erratic and I have a side business as well so I am very doubtful I would be able to meet all of the necessary attendance requirements.

I did see that Cal State Dominguez Hills offers a 100% online course and I know the usual University of Phoenix spiel, but I was wondering if anyone knew of other reputable, well-known schools that offer this type of program. Thanks!

I am going to college and want to major in linguistics. I want to email the department of linguistics at each college and ask about their programs so I know which one is the best for me. I am not interested in computational linguistics, I like linguistics and languages/linguistics and anthropology aspects. I want to minor in Japanese or Russian and I want to teach English abroad as a career.

What are some important things to know about a colleges linguistics programs that I should ask? Does anyone have any advice/input or even just complaints that will help with my research and college search?

My top colleges (that Im seriously thinking of attending) right now are:
BU (they have a major specifically for ESL teachers but no 5 year BA/MA combined program)
Binghamton (its cheap and a pretty good school)
Brandeis (very good school but only offers 5 year BA/MA in computational linguistics)
UMass Amherst (5 year BA/MA apparently very highly ranked in linguistics and has combined linguistics/anthropology and linguistics/language majors)
I also got into Stony brook, Hofstra and Ualbany

Please give me any information, complaints, experience or advice
    Thank you so much!

I see these ads to earn your degree in a year but when you go to them it is for a bachelor’s or a master’s or something that you already have to have at least an associates for. Is there some online college or a school with an online program where I can get an associate’s degree in a year? I’m just tired of trying to cut through bs.
