A low cost Sheet Is An Effective Monetary Tool

A budget linen will tell you quickly regardless of whether your finances are in very good condition or bad. This particular sheet is a report on your monetary costs against your income. If the expenses are higher, examine your monetary sheet and get rid of some expenses. Alternatively, curb your spending if possible. Use these suggestions to make your budget estimating sheet work for you.

Cash strategy is basic accounting. The money that comes within must at least equate to the money you spend! When the income is higher, put the extra into savings or a retirement accounts. If the expenses tend to be higher, you need to possibly spend less or make more. Preparing the sheet with your price range numbers on it can advise you the situation at a glance.

You may make budget sheets together with pencil and paper. Spreadsheets and software packages make the budget calculations much easier and adaptable. Start a column with the title of January Income, or perhaps the current month. List all of your expected income during that month, after fees. Be sure to consider options such as child support, alimony, Interest, and other non-job income.

Next to the income column, create a column for expenditures. This is where most people fall short. Every time you pay your money to someone else, get into that in your spending budget worksheet. Set up your budget worksheet so that it automatically totals items as you type all of them. This gives you an up to date financial snapshot. In case you are away from your computer, bring your receipts house. Put aside time weekly to enter your receipts into your budget worksheet.

Create income and cost columns for every month, and continue adding values to the page. Your budget spreadsheet will start to show you monthly developments. For example, your heating bill might multiple in winter, and your chilling bill might twice in summer. You may have car insurance payments because of in April and also September that you need to anticipate. The budget spreadsheet may alert you to these wants, but only if you use it.

Your financial sheet can be helpful at income tax time as well. You’ll have a complete list of all expenses a person paid. If you produced extra notes within your sheet, that will help you determine different types of expenses for example insurance, mortgage, rent, among others. A budget sheet has several uses if you have the discipline to keep it up up to now.

I work with teen males in Corcoran CA as a Program Coordinator of a Male Involvement Program (MIP). Our budget has been cut in a time when the California State budget is doing great!

The Office of Family planning lied to the to the Federal Government about the type of work that I do! In order to get funding by the FEDS the Office of Family Planning said I was a clinical service, when in fact they knew that I operate as a youth development program.

Now the State of Office of Family Planning says that the Bush cut our budget, and it is Govern Arnold’s fault. However, the state knew that the FEDS would have never funded us a community grant.

Yet, after a Federal audit of the State of California Office of Family Planning was caught lying to the feds, and now is threaten with losing 50% of its budget for MIP that the FEDS had funded unless it makes its correction.

So, who should be punished? The State staff that lied to the Feds, or the Governor who was unaware of the fact that state employees in the Office of Family Planning were lying to the FEDS to get funds. Should the FEDS trust the contacts at the Office of Family Planning?

I created a budget sheet. But sometimes I like to share the structure with people learning to manage their finances without showing my actual income (actual numbers). So I am wondering if there is a formula that I can attach to a cell that when is “0” it will also make other cells “0.”
For example, if A1=0 (random cell) then make A6, G3, and H7 = 0. I want to be able to change one cell and make those three cells (which essentially is my income etc) to “0”.

    thanks!

This is a project for school, I’m supposed to interview three people and ask them these questions:

    * What spreadsheet software do you use?
    * For which business functions does your company or you personally use spreadsheets?
    * What are some personal applications of spreadsheets?

As I cannot give three best answers, I will open up two more questions specifically for those who answered, so they can also receive a best answer. Thanks.

I am creating a budget excel sheet for a company I am starting. We are allocating a certain percentage of the gross to this and that but I need to put a cap on one of the percentages. How do you tell excel you would like to allocate 3% of the gross income (a sum) up until it reaches 1,000.00 while it keeps calculating all of the other percentages like normal?

Any help would be great;y appreciated. I’m swimming over my head here. Thanks.

Like a lot of people on here, I’ve been having problems coming up short each month. I’d love to set up a monthly budget that is reasonable, but it’s very difficult to determine what my income is each month as it greatly varies. This is because I substitute teach, and work grocery retail. I am also paying my way through school, and will be done this coming December.

Knowing that my income is varied, how can I set up a budget so that I can make my ends meet?

    Thanks!

However, as good as it is, it’s only helping me save 1/2 to 1/4 of what I would really like to save. Any inexpensive suggestions out there???

I’m experienced in excel and know my way around very well from moderate to less advanced uses from a simple gamer score sheet to a complex budget tracking sheet. I have stumbled upon an issue in a one of my spreadsheets though. I do not know of a formula that can calculate my needs without being extremely large, overbearing, time consuming, and extensive. I’ve very recently started studying computer coding and programming and would like to know if I can code my own formula for excel and if I can, how can it be achieved? I know the general structures of the formulas and after viewing a few of the more detailed sides of the formulas will adapt and learn how to arrange my new formula alone. My downfall is I do not know how to view the codes for the programmed formulas nor code my own. If I can simply open a default formula in an editor for viewing then later arrange my own formula through the same editor that would be outstanding.

Now… If for some reason you can read the gibberish above could you please help me. This will also help my understanding of future coding. Thank you and apologies for the uneducated mess above. You would think I’d have a better grasp of the MLA format being a senior in high school. Thank you again.

I’m just curious. We have a budget, we stick to it pretty well. We keep track of what we spend and where it’s going. We write it down or put it in a computer program. It’s just a great tool that we take advantage of.

However, we’ve had so many friends and family members that don’t use one and a lot of them seem to have financial difficulties. Most of our family and friends actually think that my husband makes MUCH more then he really does because we are so good at sticking to the budget. I’ve had friends have their internet shut off or the cable shut off…. friends who have to live paycheck to paycheck. When I talk to them about their finances(without being too into their business or being pushy) it just seems that a budget would do them a world of good. For example: We don’t have enough money until the next paycheck to pay this bill.” But, they go out to eat 2 times that week, bought cold sodas at the baseball game($4.00 worth), checked out some DVD’s at Netflix($3.00 worth), got a hair dyed($80 worth) and bought some clothes on sell ($20) worth. If they hadn’t done these things, they could have paid their bill.

I guess I’m wondering if other people don’t realize how little things like this add up?

DISCLAIMER: I am in NO way saying I am smarter, richer, or better then you. I am just curious as to how other families do their finances. Thank you.
EDIT: There’s a free Microsoft office template you can download to your Excel program. I typed in family budget and that’s the one it brought in.

Here’s the page and you can just pick which one you like. It already has the formulas configured, all you have to do is put in the numbers.

    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/templates/results.aspx?qu=household+budget&origin=FX101741961
    EDIT:

Lilly’s momma-it takes all kinds of people to fill this world! ;P If it works for your family, it works!

I have a super complicated idea I don’t think can happen in Excel but I am hoping to be surprised.

I have an excel file we use for budgeting and a seperate file for entering payroll. I would like to combine both files into one and use something like a VLookup but enter in information.

We have 42 employees who will be paid 26 times throughout the year. Right now every employee is on an excel sheet with columns for Salary, OT, FICA, and retirement. These fields for the 26 pay periods are prepopulated to what we are expecting for the year.

I would like to have a front page to this file where I can enter all of our emplyees’ biweekly payroll into some function and overwrites the budgeted figure with the actual by choosing a drop down Pay Period Number.

For example, Excel Page 2 has Joe, John, Mary, Bob, and Ryan’s estimated yearly payroll expense. On excel page 1, I have all these employees on the form and I enter PP 7’s actuals. I choose PP7 from a dropdown box and my entered data automatically fills in the actuals over the budgeted for PP7 on excel page 2.

Possible? I can email it if necessary.
