I want to transfer into a four year college but it’s going to take me at least four years to get out of my community college with an AA. Are there any accredited online colleges that offer General Ed and transferable credits? I have my heart set on CSUSB or CSULB so those are sort of what I’m looking towards and I would like to get there as soon as possible. What are good accredited online colleges?

I am looking into practical nursing programs and I have found one that is regionally accredited but not programmatically accredited in the state of Minnesota. I was told this would not affect my eligibility to sit for the NCLEXPN exam, which is a good thing, but I was wondering will this affect me in some other way I am not being told about?
Also how will this affect my eligibility to continue my education either at this school or any other school?
    Thanks for the help!

I want a real regionally accredited not for profit college with online degrees. no kaplan, or university of phoenix or anything like that. Schools like Harvard Extension, but that don’t require taking classes on campus. I don’t have that option available to me as my wife is in the army and I never know where I’ll be stationed.

I have heard a lot of different takes on online degree learning. I am particularly interested in graduate school. I have heard/read a lot of people say that online degrees aren’t respected. However, I have no idea who these people are. It seems like most of it is just an opinion rather than actual first hand knowledge. For those of you who actually earned an accredited online masters degree, did you notice that it was difficult to find work in your field? Thanks for your time and responses!

I am looking to get an associates degree in business. My end goal is going to be an administrative assistant in the oil field. I want to know what colleges that offer online coursework, 100% online anyways, with a campus that are regionally accredited. I also want to know which colleges online degrees will actually be accepted in a work place. I am a single mother, I do not have open availability for a physical college. I have tried my local college and they have no leniency at all, just opened with, “We have day care”. I don’t need day care, I need to keep my job while I work. So if someone could give me some actual colleges that I could go to that accept financial aid and who’s degree’s are not worthless in the work place, that would be fabulous, thank you.
As far as real colleges that offer 100% online coursework, I can tell you right now that there are a few, Robert. So I am going to nix your answer as bullshit. Sorry to insult. I know there are some. My local college offers some, however its just not in the field that I am looking to get into. I am looking for business courses. And I know that those can be offered online. So before you say, “There are none” Try not being an asshole.

Do you think it’s wise to get an online degree as opposed to actually going to classes at a university? I’m generally antisocial and I like being by myself. I’m at college now and my favorite part isn’t the people around me, but the idea that I’m learning something. I hate actually being in class, especially with people who could care less about being there. I just want to dig in and do my work instead of getting involved with everything.

The university is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, BUT the communications department lost it’s accreditation so the mass comm. degree there is no longer accredited by the Accrediting Council for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication. So my question is does it really matter that the communications dept. isn’t accredited as long as the university itself is? Is it worth transferring over? Do employers really look at that anyway?

I asked a Navy recruiter if they accepted online degrees and he said no that there has to be a in house residency requirement met. Is this the same for all branches and how can they discriminate if the diploma looks the same as the next person? I was thinking of doing a program with Bellevue university in computers and getting into a Information Warfare program.
I am a prior enlisted navy corpsman trying to get into IT. The position I inquired about is for an officer position. I know that would make it more competitive but I don’t think they should force people to go to study at campus especially as a adult learner after serving many years with the Navy. How is it realistic for an enlisted service member whos on active duty go to school at campus? So their saying that their enlisted will never become officers unless they get accepted to some special program where they get to go to university while still enlisted… the chances aren’t that good… so I guess the only way is to get out to do the campus thing, but they never want you to leave and insist you stay in while you finish school. This is one of the many reasons is so hard for an enlisted member to cross to officer. They label us from the beginning. Not everyone has parents that pay for their kids to go to school.

I am looking for information on finishing my degree online. I already have my associates and I am looking to get my bachelor’s in English with ESL/ELL accreditation as I want to teach English as a second language both in the US and overseas. I have been looking and i’m not finding very much. I am hoping to find a school that’s accredited and is not terribly expensive. I live in Tennessee, so a program where I wouldn’t have to pay out of state rates would be preferred. I work a full time job at a call center and my fiance doesn’t have steady work right now, so staying working for me is very important. It doesn’t have to be a program that’s completely online- if they have a campus that I would need to attend a few classes at that’s within 50 miles of Nashville then I can do that. Please no spam posts advertising websites that ask for my info- I’m looking for advise from people who have done online schooling. I am in my middle fifties. Back in my twenties, I took two BSc. degrees, one in Mechanical Engineering, the other in Geology. At the time, my thinking was something like: “Sociology! That’s for people who can’t handle a REAL science, or a REAL major!”

Now, thirty years later and semi-retired, I have become intrigued in recent years by the subject of sociology (developed along with my evolution into a Marxist) and regret not having studied sociology as a ‘minor’ or even pursuing it as a third Bachelor’s degree.

I would like to pursue further study in sociology, and earn a BA in the subject. My movement is somewhat limited due to a major physical injury a few years ago that has confined me to a wheelchair. Are there any ACCREDITED colleges or universities offering a BA in Sociology that can be earned ENTIRELY online? Preferably, one that will allow me to work self-paced, building it around my work-schedule; and, not too expensive. Thanx!

also, yes it is very possible to graduate with your associates degree at the bare minimum in a single year if you are going to classes year long rather than just the two basic semesters, university of phoenix would be an example to this with their online degree program, that was to the smart mouth who answer this question first.

I’m a second year architectural student and due to a talk with my mother, I’ve been convinced to change my major to something more guaranteed to land me a job.

So I might change my major to something in the medical field such as xray technician, etc.
But my original plan was to go to the Philippines for Mapua Institute of Technology for architecture.
My question is, are other schools such as La Salle, accredited in the US? I don’t want to go to such a school and end up having to retake courses in America.
If you can, please tell me which colleges in the Philippines are fully accredited in America.

Does anyone know of any accredited, Ohio colleges that offer a full “online” bachelor’s degree in business? I’ve just started searching the web, but I’m not sure which ones seem legit or offer a good program or not. I tried Kaplan in the past, and did not care for their expenses.

Hello, I was wondering if you could help me to find a good university which would offer masters in Occupational Safety and Health (or similar) that I can do ONLINE, preferably the university should be regionally accredited.

I like that Columbia Southern University offers masters in Occupational Safety and Health and the tuition costs are not that high, but the only fact which is holding me here is that CSU is only nationally accredited and not regionally. (Don’t know why they cannot get regionally accredited and what is the process and what is holding them down)

I know there are universities like University of Alabama at Birmingham and Eastern Kentucky University, which offers online masters as well, but the tuition costs there are very high.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I have a BA in English, but would like to get a Masters in one of the following:
    Special Ed./Early Ed.
    Social Work
    Speech Pathology
I would also like to know if it matters if the school is out of state (for licensing and certification programs). Any online graduates out there that can personally recommend a school? Please be specific, I don’t need more search sites. Thanks!

I am in a position where I am going to a 4 year university, but I may have to change to an online degree program because of my work schedule. Do companies look down on degrees obtained online? I am going back to get an accounting degree adn was considering Phoenix University.

I heard that businesses actually look fondly on people with online degrees because it shows self discipline and motivation. Any advice?

When you apply for a job and you have an online school degree, do they look at it different then another person applying for the same job with an on-campus degree?
