A Piece of Advice on How to Save Means and Avoid Temptations

or copy the link

At present saving money and managing finances are essential skills for our everyday life. If you want to survive in modern world, you should know how to deal with money. Unfortunately very few people really know how to budget properly and to keep within their household budget. Lots of people have difficult times trying to save money, though it’s for their own benefit.

How to Save Means and Avoid Temptations – Tips on Money Saving

You should be motivated to save money all the time, but in our life temptations often appear on our way and we sometimes spend certain amounts even before we know it. In such a way means supposed to be added up to the saving accounts go for purposes other than initially intended.

You will find below some tips which may help you avoid temptations and save your means:

1. Do your best to avoid things which prevent you from saving. If you are fond of buying dresses even when you do not really need them, stay away from clothing departments. Try hard to avoid temptation to buy a new pretty shift dress you’ve come across even if you know that considering this lending service is a good idea.

2. While shopping for food, make a list of what you need and take the exact amount of cash you need for it. If your money is limited, you will have to stick to your list and buy only the things you really need. The very process of making a list will make you more organized, reasonable and disciplined; you will learn to prioritize the necessary things. It’s not difficult to master the tricks of saving on groceries; you just need a bit of self-control.

3. Visit the malls only when it’s necessary. If there is no real need to make shopping, do not go it. Window-shopping will only result in a hard-to-resist temptation to buy a pretty dress you come across in one of the boutiques even if it’s not what you really need now.

4. Leave your credit cards at home. If you have a credit card with you, you will be tempted to purchase things which you do not need.Quick access to your financial means is not always good. If you do not have credit cards with you, it will result finally in lower balances and give you the advantage of proper credit score.

5. Save money on bank accounts, term deposits or make investments. When you keep means in the financial institutions, you do not have the temptation to take them from there any time cash is needed, especially if they are in time deposit accounts.

6. Turn for a professional help and advice from experts. There is a number of programs, which provide free services, sometimes even on line. In such a way you can get additional information on how to save money and resist the temptations you face.

How do I save money if I am a 15 year old? Please don’t say a bank or anything. I put it in a drawer. I always spend it on a drink or something, or gum at this mini-mart. Should I just eat/drink from home and bring my stuff from home?

How do I resist myself from spending it?

How do I get a active paypal account if I am 15? When I try to give money to other people, it says you need a bank account. Please help, I want to start using it. Is getting money from songcritic.com good? How do I turn that into cash? Please don’t say use your parents. I know they won’t let me. Or any other good sites like this?

What is a good way if everything else is bad, like to focus on the money you are saving or what?

My fiance and I are trying to save up for a deposit on a house, a wedding and a ‘baby fund’ for our future. This financial recession has hit us hard and being a young couple it feels like we;re never gonna be able to afford anything! I was wondering how you others cope? How do you save money, and what are your tips, either on saving money or managing money in general? Thanks =)
Thought I’d add a few extra details. I am 21, my fiance is 27, he works full time and earns about £1,200 a month and I am a full time student but earn about £180 a month from my saturday job. At the moment our outgoings are about £1,100 a month so we have very little to live off. Our credit card usually makes up the difference as some months our outgoings are more than our incomings and we really struggle. We want to reduce our monthly outgoings so we can start paying off our debts and save. I will hopefully qualify as a teacher in 4 months time if all goes well and will start off on £21,000 a year in september but I want to know how to save money up until then so our credit cards don’t get out of control.

Im 15 years old and getting a job soon. i want to start saving my money for the future so Im wondering which way would work better. ( i have a bank account)

The first way is having one account for general spending money and one account for saving up money for a car. Then after I’ve got the car, keep on saving money for more more long term savings. I would probably put 25 to 50 percent of my income into my savings account this way and the rest in general spending money)

Or the other way is having three accounts, one for general spending money, one for car savings and the other for long term savings. I would put 25 percent into each savings account and the rest in general spending money.

Which way do you think would work better? Or changes on either one.

Hello! I am a 19 year old college student studying business. For years I listen to many elders telling me to save money for a rainy day. Now I don’t spend money much (except food, gas, and SOMETIMES mall clothes). I look at other students on campus and I see them spending on new clothes, starbucks, fast foods all that stuff. At my age, should i be saving money already? or follow other students and spend on whatever?

  45. Will May 26, 2014 at 2:37 pm Reply

People always want to save their money. They usually see it as a wise choice, but sometimes it could also make them seem selfish & cheap. Like if they rarely buy presents to exchange for the merry holidays or experience electricity once in awhile or go wear the same several clothes for years. Anyways, if you’re a totally not cheap type of person, then you’re more likely to go broke. How do you manage to spend without going broke & saving without looking like a shopping antagonist for years?

Here’s my situation, i’ve become addicted to saving money, I just can’t help it, I don’t know why i’ve gotten myself in this frame of mind, maybe its because of my fear of an uncertain future or that I come from a poor family, that makes me extremely cautious when spending any money.
I’m currently at uni which piles a bunch of debts on me, but on the good side i’ve not spent any of my student/maintenance loan, my only debt is the course, instead i’ve been living of my part time job. But I only spend my wages on essentials, things I just can’t live without like transport and food. I don’t buy luxuries and if I had to, say the tape won’t hold my old trainers together anymore, I would still analyse every penny that I spend. I even collect pennies and would pick a penny up of the street.
Also I don’t know if it’s a sign how much power TV has over me but, all this news about the credit crunch (UK) makes me an even more crazy saver.
What do you make of my situation? What’s you situation?

I’m a junior in high school. I know it’s a year out, but my friends and I are thinking about taking our senior trip to Orlando to visit Disney World and Universal Studios. We calculated all the costs, and figured out that we would each need about $1000 to go. However, I know that that is a high estimate, especially with all the deals going on.

Do you have any tips for saving money on our trip? I’ve been to Disney a dozen times before (most recently this past March), but always with my family, and my parents paid for everything, so I’m not familiar with the meal plans, etc. I get the feeling that if we end up going to Disney (like I really want to!) I’ll end up being the main planner, and I’d love to be able to tell everyone a reduced cost!

    Thanks in advance.
We want to go for about ten total days, including driving time.
